Contract Personnel are pleased to be recruiting for a hardworking Shot blaster to work for one of our esteme clients based in Great Yarmouth. This person would be responsible for operating shotblasting machinery to clean steel surfaces of dirt, scale, rust, and other contaminants using blasts of steel shot.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate Equipment: Use shot blasting machinery to clean Steel surfaces to high standard.
  2. Inspect Surfaces: Ensure surfaces are free of contaminants before and after blasting.
  3. Load and Unload Materials: Move materials into and out of blasting room.
  4. Monitor Equipment: Adjust settings for proper pressure, flow, and distance.
  5. Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and emptying dust
  6. Safety: Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  7. Quality Control: Ensure work meets high standards and specifications.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to notice small imperfections and ensure high-quality results.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skill in handling equipment and materials.
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Good interpersonal skills for teamwork and reporting issues.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment blockages/malfunctions.
  • Forklift: Be a competent counter balance FLT user.

Job Details

  • Working Days: Monday to Friday 
  • Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 
  • Pay rate: from £12.50 per hour (PAYE)
