Mechanical Fitter

Our client, a manufacturing market leader in their field, are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join their team, based in Great Yarmouth.

This is a full-time permanent position.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 07:30 - 17:00.

Ideally, applicants will have:

  • Lathe / Milling Machine experience (desirable not essential).
  • Manufacturing / Engineering environment experience.
  • Mechanical and Pneumatic experience.
  • Hand fitting skills (essential).

Applicants must have previous experience of Mechanical Fitting of small sub-assemblies then adding these to the larger machines using hand fitting skills.

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their growing team. In this role, you will be working on new and refurbishment machine builds.

The role will be based in Great Yarmouth but may involve some infrequent travel when visiting customers for repairs. The successful candidate will have a proven record assembling complex mechanical, pneumatic and electronic assemblies within the manufacturing/engineering industry.

Mechanical Fitter Roles & Responsibilities

  • Mechanical assembly of parts to engineering drawings with minimal supervision
  • Assembly of pneumatic systems
  • Fault finding of mechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Electrical/Electronics experience would be an advantage
  • Ensure assembly build times are met and improved on
  • Prioritise workload to meet delivery objectives
  • Identify and correct any non conformances with the machine
  • Communicate with management and design teams on issues and ideas for improvement
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace adhering to company standards
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and policies as set by the company
