SEMH Key Worker
  • Location: Norwich, Norfolk

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Key Worker to join our team. This role involves being responsible for the care and leisure time activities of a group of children, under the supervision and guidance of the Senior SEMH Key Worker Team. You will hold a caseload of up to 6 pupils and play a crucial role in their physical, emotional, educational, and social development.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Implement an agreed pattern of sensitive care and control to provide a secure, safe, and stimulating environment.
  • Train and counsel pupils in personal and social competence.
  • Establish high levels of expectation for good standards of behaviour and achievement.
  • Actively engage in the Academy’s recreational and social programme.
  • Attend meetings to discuss individual children and contribute towards a unified approach.
  • Participate in daily observation and recording of pupils’ behaviour and progress.
  • Manage pupil pocket money and maintain orderliness of living and recreational areas.
  • Engage in all safeguarding training and report any incidents causing concern.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role within an educational or care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • NVQ2 in a relevant field, with a commitment to work towards BTEC Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • First aid training up to date or willingness to update.
  • Full Driving Licence is desirable.
