About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND TA to join our inclusive and vibrant primary school located in the heart of London. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the educational development and emotional well-being of children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to deliver tailored educational support to students with SEND, ensuring their specific learning objectives are met.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavioural Support Plans (BSPs).
- Provide 1-1 or small group support to students, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.
- Establish a safe and nurturing environment that encourages students with SEND to engage actively in their learning and school community.
- Collaborate with external professionals such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, facilitating the holistic support of students.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to strengthen your knowledge and skills in special education.
- Promote inclusion by assisting in adapting curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting is essential.
- A deep understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEND and a commitment to ensuring they receive equitable access to educational opportunities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures is vital.
