Your new companyA forward-thinking and creative employer is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join their finance team. This is a full-time position, offering 37.5 hours per week. Your new role

  • Data Entry & Administration: Manage financial information using Excel, Sage, and other systems.
  • Invoice Processing: handling purchase invoices, expenses, and sales invoices, including monitoring payments and issuing statements.
  • Financial Monitoring: Track income, expenditure, cash flow, and budgets, highlighting issues to the Corporate Business Manager.
  • Payment Management: Enter payments for suppliers, staff reimbursements, and payroll-related transactions.
  • Audit Assistance: Help produce audit reports and files, and undertake financial audits as requested.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and control accounts, and manage the Focus Asset Register.
  • General Enquiries: Respond to financial transaction queries and monitor Accounts mailboxes.
  • Travel & Equipment Coordination: Arrange travel bookings and order financial assets and equipment.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in implementing and developing departmental policies and projects.
  • Workload Organisation: Prioritise and organise workload to meet financial timescales and legal requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Good standard of education, including a high standard of attainment in numerical / mathematical subjects.
  • AAT Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within an administrative or financial environment and undertaking a range of administrative / financial duties.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Organised, methodical, thorough and detail focussed
