We are seeking a dedicated Freight Forwarder to join our small, dynamic team in Doncaster. This office-based role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in the logistics and transportation industry, providing a crucial service in the movement of goods across various channels.
Day-to-day of the role:- Coordinate and oversee the shipment of goods, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
- Liaise with clients, carriers, and third parties to arrange transportation and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and other necessary documents.
- Monitor the status of shipments and provide updates to clients and internal teams.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, airlines, and road and rail freight operators.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies related to freight forwarding.
- Use logistics software to manage and track shipments efficiently.
- Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar role within the logistics sector.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
