We are seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join my client's team in Guildford. This role is ideal for someone with experience in credit control within a law firm (although law firm experience is not essential), who is adept at leading process improvements and implementing automation to enhance efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy professional to develop and refine our credit control function.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Review and enhance existing credit control processes, implementing automation where feasible.
- Liaise with solicitors to ensure prompt payment of client invoices and disbursements.
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity on the finance database for transparency and action planning.
- Regularly review client ledgers to manage money on account and ensure timely transfers to the office account.
- Send client statements, payment requests, or reconcile client ledgers as needed.
- Monitor new instructions to secure money on account.
- Collaborate with solicitors and the Financial Controller on actions for late payments or potential bad debts, adhering to internal policies.
- Provide detailed reports on credit control activity, follow-ups, and payment promises.
- Create and manipulate Excel reports for Senior Management.
- Mentor and supervise the existing credit controller.
- Proven experience in Credit Control within a law firm is ideal but not essential.
- Experience in automating credit control processes.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
