The Business Support Officer role will embrace all aspects of administrative & technical support including: managing infromation from contractors and clients, creating & formatting documents, assisting with legal claims and ad hoc projects.
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Business Support Administrator to join our team, providing essential support to our housing and property management operations.
The ideal Business Support Officer will bring extensive experience in a similar technical or specialist system-based role, ideally within a Local Authority, Housing Association, or for a contractor involved in building or compliance-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative & Technical Support: Provide administrative assistance for specialist contracts and oversee compliance-related tasks such as fire risk assessments, Legionella management, and more.
- Data Analysis & Case Management: Handle complex cases, including disrepair claims and formal complaints, by conducting in-depth investigative research. Collaborate with teams across Housing, Technical Services, and the Customer Resolution Officer.
- Compliance & Admin Support: Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations in property management, supporting specialist contracts such as gas maintenance, electrical compliance, fire risk assessments, and remedial works.
- Right to Buy & Leasehold Management: Assist with right to buy and leasehold administration, supporting the Leasehold & RTB Specialist in managing requests and providing essential information.
- Information Coordination: Gather, manage, and process information from contractors and residents, ensuring accurate and timely documentation to support front-line services.
- Technical Documentation: Compile technical property information to assist in legal cases and enquiries from MPs and Councillors.
Skills & Experience
- Proven background in a business support or system-based role, ideally in property or technical fields.
- Solid understanding of compliance, property management legislation and regulations.
- Skilled in data analysis, with the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary cases.
- Proficient with IT systems, with a proven ability to quickly adapt to new software.
- Excellent communication skills, working well in a team to deliver high-quality front-line services.
