Supporting a scientific product development company who are developing an innovative new product, we are looking for a contract Sonar engineer.


Our partner has an existing team of electronics / FPGA & software engineers who are working on the product but require someone who has advanced knowledge with Sonar.

We can pay a rate of £75 - £85pphr, outside IR35.

You will need to go to the client site in Guildford or Portsmouth for 1-2 days per month.

Their product will use sonar to detect how far away an object is in shallow water. Their product work is up to 1500khz . The transducer omits the sounds then receives the sound back.


Skills sought include:

high frequency sonar experience

Monostatic radar experience

Experience of Target detection in the presence of reverberation and noise


Desirable skills sought:

Signal processing experience

Scientific Product development, acoustic product development or underwater acoustic communication signals experience
