Join our successful client in their Dispute Resolution Team as a Legal PA, where your main focus is to offer direct support to fee earners, ensuring they can work at maximum efficiency.

Job specification:

  • Draft correspondence and documents, including transcribing dictation.
  • Prepare and dispatch mail and enclosures.
  • Manage client matters independently when fee earners are absent.
  • Schedule appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain fee earners’ diaries.
  • Interact with clients professionally, in person or by phone, in line with client care standards.
  • Handle filing, including the opening, closing, and retrieval of client files.
  • Ensure copying is done, personally if necessary.
  • Prepare and clear the conference room, providing refreshments if needed.
  • Support other PAs/secretaries and guide junior staff as required.
  • Participate in training and take responsibility for self-development.
  • Maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
  • Complete online forms and operate the case management system.
  • Suggest ways to improve department efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Person specification:

  • Fast typing speed and advanced IT skills.
  • Substantial previous legal secretarial experience (essential).
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with Practice Evolve or other case management systems.
  • Understanding of legal principles and practices.
  • Willingly takes on additional tasks as needed by fee earners.
  • Maintains a strong awareness of fee earners’ work output and understands their preferred working styles.
  • Takes a proactive approach to tasks, consistently displaying a positive attitude.
  • Provides exceptional client service, interacting effectively with both internal and external clients.
  • Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Shows a clear commitment to the firm and a genuine interest in legal work.
  • Demonstrates high levels of courtesy and respect when interacting with clients, colleagues, and contacts.
