1st Line Network Engineer
We are looking for apassionate and innovative 1st Line Network Engineerto join a dynamic and growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity todesign, implement, and maintainan expanding network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency.
As a key member of theNetwork Operations Centre, you will be responsible for providingtechnical support for LAN/WANand working closely with senior engineers to develop scalable and reliable network architectures that align with business objectives.
We are seeking candidates withat least one years of experiencein deliveringFortinet, Cisco, and/or JuniperWAN and LAN solutions. Familiarity withnetwork monitoring tools such as PRTG and Visiois required, and knowledge ofVMware technologiesis a plus.
Role
- Providing1st line supportfor network infrastructure, includingconfiguration and troubleshootingof routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and QoS.
- Monitoringsystem performance and reliability, ensuring smooth operation.
- Taking ownership of support cases and ensuring timely resolution.
- Performingnetwork maintenance and upgrades, including patch management and security updates.
- Assisting withnetwork design and implementation, supporting both internal and external clients.
- Working withinchange management policiesto ensure efficient deployment and minimal disruption.
- Troubleshootingswitching technologies(STP, VLANs, VTP) and optical network connections.
- Assisting insecurity implementation, ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
- Supporting pre-sales activities, conducting technology demonstrations, and providing expertise on networking solutions.
You
- Experience withCisco, Fortinet, and/or Junipernetwork solutions.
- Strongtroubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity withPRTG, Visio, and network monitoring tools.
- Basic understanding ofvirtualization (VMware preferred).
- Excellentcommunication skillsand a customer-first approach.
- Eagerness to learn and continuously develop networking expertise.
You MUST possess excellent communication skills and be eligible to work in the UK.
You will ideally live locally to the office and have own transport (the will be required in the office two/three times a week).
