ROLE PURPOSE

Our Client is seeking a passionate, highly motivated and creative Social Value / employment and skills Advisor to take a leading role in the delivery of employment and skills targets and initiatives across various projects. Responsible for Section 106 Employment & Skills Plan deliverables, the successful candidate will manage relationships with the existing community and education stakeholders, be proactive in building new relationships, and devise and implement a Community Plan.

Working closely with the Production, Land and Communication teams, they will play a pivotal role in communicating key technical issues to the community during the construction process. Working alongside a variety of community partners, they will also implement a programme of events and activities to bring about lasting social, economic and environmental improvements in the local area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage a local Social Value & Community Engagement Plan with local  stakeholders, including running regular events, community initiates and manage regular communications.
  • Drive the success of the S106 Employment and Skills Plan, through effective stakeholder engagement, robust reporting and leading on audit meetings with local Council’s S106 team.
  • Lead on local outreach employment & skills work including engaging with schools, colleges, & universities and DWP, attending a variety of events including local careers fairs.
  • Support contractors with pastoral care for young people and apprentices.
  • Assist with the delivery of their pre-employment programmes.
  • Build relationships with sub-contractors to encourage apprenticeship and vocational training placements within the supply chain, including meeting subcontractors regularly to discuss targets and objectives.
  • Provide supporting evidence for CCS audits regarding community engagement, developing workforce and increasing industry awareness.
  • Proactively develop relationships with the local community, including door knocking existing neighbours so they have all the information required on the development.
  • Create effective and impactful methods of communication with residents to gain their endorsement.
  • Develop content for communications and project updates.
  • Act as an ambassador of our clients by promoting their strategic objectives for creating a new community.
  • Evidence social value impact through monthly and annual reporting to a variety of stakeholders.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working in a community-based role such as Social Value Advisor, Community Investment Advisor or Employment & Skills Adviser.
  • An understanding of the construction industry (preferred).
  • Proven ability to set and achieve targets.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office packages.
