Due to a swelling order book and exciting growth plans.Our client requires a Civils Quantity Surveyor to work remotely, visiting projects in the South East area. Our customer has a requirement for a QS to oversee civils projects to the south of London in the Surrey and West Sussex regions. A location ideally close to Guildford, would provide a central base. You will be required to work remotely and undertake project meetings. The Commercial team structure is to have a base of commercial staff in the head office and additional Quantity Surveyors focused in defined regions

The Opportunity

You will be part of a larger commercial team.Reporting to a Commercial Manager you will be responsible for 2 to 3 projects concurrently. Our client employs a number of Quantity Surveyors at various levels encouraging progression throughout the ranks, within the business.Operating primarily as a main contractor on contracts varying in value from 500k to 3m on average.

Day to day

Efficient communication with project teams and head office

Administration of sub-contractor accounts

Maintaining commercial controls on projects

Valuations, pricing variations and applications

Manage and audit cost forecasting

Issuing of payment certificates

Attend project meetings with supply chain and internal teams

Understand project change, inline with contract conditions and impact of project commercials

You

  • A relevant qualification in the Construction/ Civil Engineering industry preferred
  • Demonstrable working knowledge as a Quantity Surveyor capacity for a civil engineering contractor
  • Self-motivated and ability to take direction whilst primarily working remotely
  • Strong communicator and self-motivated
  • Comfortable with remote working
