We are working with a well-established and reputable groundworks company in Surrey that is seeking a driven Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in cost management, risk assessment, and commercial strategy, contributing to the successful delivery of a range of projects across South East England and the Home Counties.

About the Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be a key member of the commercial team, you will play a vital role in driving financial efficiency and strategic decision-making. Collaborating closely with the QS department, site teams, and apprentices, you will oversee cost control, conduct risk evaluations, and develop innovative commercial strategies that align with both client requirements and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be maintaining and building relationships with clients, sourcing new opportunities, and completing tenders in a timely manner.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be assessing tender documents, managing sub-contractor and materials supplier databases, and preparing estimates for groundworks projects.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be overseeing contract documentation, valuations, and payments, while providing commercial advice to the site team on project strategy and issues.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be preparing monthly forecasts, cost reports, and monitoring tender success rates, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be handling sub-contractor negotiations, site measurements, variations, and managing final accounts, ensuring projects meet financial targets.


Requirements:

  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have relevant experience in the Building and Civil Engineering industry.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have a minimum of 2 years' QS experience - ideally in Groundworks.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have a strong understanding of construction contracts, forms of measurement, and health & safety regulations.
  • As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
