We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Care Home Manager to join our management team and take responsibility for managing Muirfield Nursing Home, our 60-bed home in the picturesque town of Gullane, East Lothian. Built in 2018, our home offers the very best in luxurious living for our residents, who enjoy a high standard of care in a friendly community setting. Our home is well known by, and integrated into the community, enjoying a reputation for compassion, warmth and kindness, as these are the top priorities for our highly skilled team.

As Home Manager within Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group, you will be accountable for your own budget, which allows you to make local decisions about the way the home is managed. Alongside this degree of autonomy, you will enjoy the support of a full-time supernumerary Deputy Manager, and peer support from fellow home managers, who have extensive experience and are well placed to provide ongoing advice and guidance. You will also be supported by a senior management team with a breadth of clinical knowledge and experience, all of whom are on hand to advise, and support a culture of continuous improvement. The depth and strength in our management team has resulted in our homes consistently attaining positive grades with the Care Inspectorate.

The role

The key aspects of the role are;

• To maintain a safe, healthy, homely and happy environment for residents

• Project a professional approach to the care of residents, setting high standards in all areas of work

• Operate an economically viable home to the highest possible standards within company budgets

• Involve and encourage residents, whenever possible, to guide improvements and consolidate person centred care - our residents say "We would like someone who is kind, caring and helpful, with the right attitude and a real desire for the role"

• Build strong relationships in the community and oversee the operational management of the care home

• Provide leadership, and continue to develop the team of nurses, carers and ancillary staff, treating colleagues with respect and ensuring good team working

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience;

• Registered Nurse (Current PIN number with NMC) and/or hold SVQ Level 4 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) and SVQ 4 in Leadership and Management.

• Extensive management experience within the care home environment

• Clear and concise communicator with excellent listening skills

• Experience in care of older people, including a sound knowledge of dementia

• The ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times

• Knowledge of employment law, the private sector, and care home regulations are desirable
