 Reed Finance are working exclusively with a dynamic engineering and manufacturing company based in East Lothian. This brilliant organisation is dedicated to achieving excellence in their financial systems and processes and are looking for a talented Management Accountant to join their team.

Job Description: As a Management Accountant you will play a crucial role in developing and strengthening the financial systems. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain day-to-day accounts
  • Prepare and produce monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with year-end routines, including Year-End close and Stock Count.
  • Support the completion of audits.
  • Prepare and complete Tax Packs.
  • Collaborate on budget pack creation.
  • Implement process improvements and drive change.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Monitor the overhead recovery process.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and management reporting.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel.

Qualifications:

  • A degree is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be willing to work towards an accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA).

Ideal Candidate:

  • Working towards a professional accounting qualification.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of standard costing, ERP systems, and manufacturing improvement techniques is valued.
  • Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
  • Leadership potential and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
