Job description

First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for an HSE Manager to join an established international company in the Edinburgh-Falkirk-Glasgow region. Our client is a heavy manufacturer, dedicated to small to large scale industrial manufacturing products worldwide.

What's on Offer:

  • Salary is negotiable pending experience

This will be a senior role, where you will be expected to operate as part of a cohesive team, as well as autonomously.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Oversee and ensure the implementation of safety and environmental controls for all manufacturing, service, repair, office, yard, and grounds operations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to local HSE representatives at all UK sites, acting as the primary HSE contact for the UK.
  • Manage and drive risk assessment and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) programmes.
  • Administer contractor permit control on site.
  • Chair local safety committees to promote continuous safety improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the company's HSE systems.
  • Assist in setting and achieving site-specific HSE objectives, aligned with corporate-level targets and goals.

Essential skills, experience and knowledge:

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential.
  • NEBOSH and IOSH certifications are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ISO/OHSAS standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven team player.
