We are seeking experienced and energetic Teaching Assistants to join our team at a purpose-built special school in Hailsham. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, aiming to prepare each child to become a confident young adult.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the Class Teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing inclusive lessons.
  • Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment for pupils.
  • Provide individual support and encouragement to pupils, helping them achieve their potential.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and Trust Executive Team to implement school policies and practices.
  • Engage with pupils to develop their emotional, academic, vocational, and physical skills.
  • Participate in the wider school community, contributing to extracurricular activities and school events.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within SEN provision.
  • Understanding of the needs of pupils with SEMH and associated challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of teaching and leadership staff.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos of Love, Flourishing, Community, and Social Justice.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
  • Right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
