We are seeking passionate individuals with an interest in child psychology to join schools in Hailsham as teaching assistants. This role is perfect an aspiring child psychologist, offering the chance to gain hands-on experience working with children in a classroom setting.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will support students' learning and emotional well-being, focusing on building a safe and nurturing environment within the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to help students reach their full potential. This position will allow you to observe and apply psychological concepts in real-world settings, supporting individual students or small groups with specific learning or behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Emotional & Behavioural Support: Use empathy and positive reinforcement to support students in managing their emotions, improving focus, and building social skills.
  • Individualized Learning Plans: Assist in the implementation of personalized strategies for students, collaborating with teachers and specialists to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Observational Skills: Develop your understanding of child behaviour by observing how students interact in different settings, gaining valuable insights that align with your psychology background.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a supportive team, offering feedback and insights on student progress to teachers and school staff.
