On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a Financial Controller to work with a growing SME business based in Halesowen.

Duties of the role will include:

  • Provide strong leadership across all aspects of the org to drive improvements in commercial performance and strategic position

  • Take ownership for the financial function including people systems process is an controls

  • manage and further develop the finance team that is effective responsible results driven and adds real value to the business participate fully in the management of the business in particular commercial aspects of contracts challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate and providing high quality financial analysis and guidance on all activities plans targets and projects

  • manage all reporting requirements both internal and external including the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts preparation of annual statutory group accounts and oversee the annual audit engagement with the group's external auditor ensuring audit requirements are met in a timely manner and on schedule

  • liaise with internal stakeholders on a continuous basis to address issues which affect the smooth operation of the financial and commercial processes within the organisation

  • work with senior management in the development of business plans operating budgets and forecasts

  • support group finance in all aspects of financial reporting training audits accounts tax planning and compliance banking and cash management and risk management

  • tax compliance including VAT PAYE and corporation tax

Skills, Requirements, Qualifications

  • Experience working in a group of SME businesses

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Team management experience

  • Clear communicator

  • Systems implementation experience an advantage
