We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in the West Midlands. Who comes with a strong background in bespoke manufacturing within the Oil & Gas sector.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer who will be working on a wide range of bespoke repeat and new upcoming projects. This role will encompass everything from small client-requested adjustments for existing products to full R+D projects on brand new to market solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in pressure vessel design and codes, machined / fabricated components, carbon & stainless steel, and welding details.

This is a key role that encompasses the quality and timely delivery of work packages, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. In addition, the role requires a level of cost estimating experience and a working knowledge of best practice.

The responsibilities for this role can vary considerably depending on scope and size of Project, a mixture of onshore and offshore experience across numerous sectors is essential. The typical responsibilities are shown below:

  • A strong and developed sense of health and safety within the working environment and in the design process.
  • Lead multi-discipline work packages in accordance with the requirements of quality and environmental management systems qualified to ISO standards.
  • Be able to manage work scopes and interfaces between all engineering disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work packages.
  • Review of mechanical design calculations, Fabrication drawings and Job package for Pressure vessels, Columns and Storage tanks in accordance with Design Code, Client datasheet and Specifications.
  • Experience working with ISO, ASME, EN requirements and other relevant guidelines and regulations, such as PD 5500, EN 13445, ASME VIII Div. 1 & 2, ASME B31.3, B16.5, B16.47. NACE MR0175/ISO 1516
  • Development and management of schedule.
  • Be competent in Design Verification; highlights areas of concern and can affect corrective actions; able to supervise others

Experience / Skills / Qualifications:

  • International Project experience - running Projects in excess of 1M.
  • Recognised Qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Preferable chartered engineer and member of recognized institution
  • Relevant proven experience in multidiscipline engineering management within engineering and procurement projects for the oil and gas industry
