Data Migration Analyst
  • Hours: Up to 37 per week (dependent on project needs)

We are looking for a Data Migration Analyst with a deep understanding of migration principles, especially in the context of social care systems. This role is crucial for a project involving the migration of Adults and/or Children’s Services data, with a focus on maintaining statutory reporting requirements and ensuring data integrity throughout the process.

Day to day of the role:
  • Carry out data extraction from legacy systems in collaboration with the ICT&D team, ensuring timeliness and adequacy.
  • Map and extract data in the required format from in-house social care and finance systems, as well as other relevant data sources.
  • Liaise with business representatives, developers, and Project Leads to address any data issues and ensure compliance with migration standards.
  • Provide extracted data to the Data Migration Specialist for transformation activities in line with project timelines.
  • Write database extracts, analyse tables, and write extraction procedures using technologies such as Oracle PL/SQL.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Understanding of migration principles, particularly in social care systems.
  • Knowledge of Adults and/or Children’s Services processes, procedures, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL for writing database extracts and extraction procedures.
  • Good understanding of source control principles and version management.
  • Proven experience in IT projects with the ability to manage documentation such as RAID and migration scope.
  • Competency in analysing and interpreting data and producing high-quality written reports.
Desirable:
  • Extensive experience in social care case management and finance migrations.
  • Ability to communicate complex migration issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of IT systems competence, with the ability to self-teach and mentor others in data migration processes.
