SQL Reporting Specialist – Social Care – Mosaic

SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft Azure Synapse, Data Factory, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SQL database design, Business Intelligence, Mosaic Case Management, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Automated data flows, Metadata management, Data modelling, Reverse-engineering data models, Optimised SQL queries

  • Remote with occasional travel to Calderdale

We are seeking a SQL Reporting Specialist with a strong background in SQL Server tools and database management. This role involves leading database design, development, and maintenance efforts, particularly focusing on automated data flows and business intelligence systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft Azure Synapse, and the Mosaic case management system.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Design, develop, and implement automated data flows to extract, transform, and join data sources for analytics and business intelligence systems.
  • Lead efforts in database design, development, maintenance, and management.
  • Review manual data flows and identify opportunities to develop automated data flows.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate metadata repositories.
  • Write optimised queries, views, and triggers for integration with other data sources.
  • Produce relevant data models across multiple subject areas.
  • Reverse-engineer data models from a range of operational and transactional systems.
  • Design SQL database architecture within major social care software platforms (e.g., Liquidlogic LCS/EHM, Servelec Synergy/Mosaic, SAP, ERP, OLM CareFirst)..
  • Mentor and upskill permanent council employees within the Reporting Team to independently create and maintain Mosaic reports.
  • Deliver training to team members and conduct thorough testing phases.
  • Manage data dictionaries and metadata with regular maintenance and detailed record-keeping.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse and/or Data Factory (desirable).
  • Experience in designing SQL database architecture within major social care software platforms (e.g., Liquidlogic LCS/EHM, Servelec Synergy/Mosaic, SAP, ERP, OLM CareFirst).
  • Proficiency in various SQL standards (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to transform, extract, manipulate, and join/match data from a variety of sources.
  • Experience in writing optimised queries, views, and triggers for integration with other data sources.
  • Experience in producing relevant data models across multiple subject areas.
  • Ability to reverse-engineer data models from a range of operational and transactional systems.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining appropriate metadata repositories.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the Mosaic case management system and its reporting infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and skills with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Power BI.
  • Willingness to mentor and upskill team members.
