Industrial Engineer

Duration: 6-month Contract with potential to go permanent

Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4pm 35 hours

Salary: 40k per annum pro rata'd

Stafflex LTD are currently hiring an Industrial Engineer on behalf of our client. This is great opportunity to work for a renowned company in West Yorkshire.

Overview of the position:

Analyses operating environment: identifies process inefficiencies and wastes of time, money, materials, and energy. Conducts time and motion studies.

Conceptualises improvements and assists in developing business cases.

Develops and evaluates pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes. Implements new and enhanced processes and tools.

Designs the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Analyses and plans workforce utilisation, space requirements, and workflow.

Duties:

  • Develops labour standards by analysing work samples and methods, measuring work performance.
  • Improves labour utilisation by studying work methods; testing modifications; designing new methods; recommending job restructuring.
  • Improves workflow by studying process flow charts; recommending modifications in workflow, workstations and product; developing new procedures; recommending equipment modifications and purchases.
  • Reduces waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommending changes; identifying and analysing waste.
  • Implements work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
  • Prepares work-analysis information and reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
  • Protects organisation value by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experiences and competency required:

  • 2+ year working in the automotive sector in a similar role
  • Competence in problem solving methodologies, primarily Ishikawa and 5why
  • Computer literate with all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written), coupled with good numeric skills to be able to present facts for demonstration purposes
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Ability to comprehend complex instructions and respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly
