Day-to-Day of the Specialised Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH, enhancing their educational and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement effective strategies and support plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, adapting approaches as necessary to maximise student progress.
  • Support the creation and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Engage with students to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging their engagement and participation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Specialised Teaching Assistant, particularly in SEMH and cognition and learning support, or in a similar role within an SEN setting.
  • A deep understanding of the educational needs and challenges faced by students with SEMH and learning difficulties.
  • Must possess a current DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic educational team.
  • A strong commitment to enhancing the educational journey of students with special needs through dedicated support and innovative interventions.
