Principal Manufacturing Engineer

The Principal Manufacturing Engineer is a critical function to create, deliver and implement improvements within the manufacturing facility.

Extensive experience in a similar manufacturing environment is essential; large equipment/plant assembly, fabrication, structural steel, skid mounted plant.

My client is an established global manufacturer of large engineered-to-order equipment supplying throughout EMEA from their Droitwich, UK site.

The Role

  • Drive process improvements/business transformations/design and implement modern techniques and tooling / fixtures.
  • Evaluating and improving quality control processes, production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management
  • Ensuring compliance
  • Reviewing and calculating costs
  • Planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency using MRP/ERP
  • Coordinating maintenance services

Requirements

  • Highly experienced Principle or Senior Manufacturing Engineer
  • Background in a engineered to order (ETO) / fabrication & assembly environment, structural steel
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or other formal productivity improvement programs (Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred).
  • Strong systems background in MRP/ERP, project management, scheduling, inventory management and general accounting
  • AutoCAD/ Solidworks would be an advantage.
