Transport Administrator

Menzies Distribution are looking for an experienced Transport Administrator to join our team, providing a first-class service in our Droitwich depot. You’ll be working on behalf of Menzies Distribution and its customers and the purpose of this role is to support and assist in the smooth and efficient running of the transport. You will be a strong administrator with excellent inter-personal skills, keen attention to detail and a passion for system process and accurate reporting, within the transport industry, are critical traits required for this role. A professional and positive telephone manner is essential for this position.

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

  • Shift Pattern: 4on / 4off
  • Hours: 6am-6pm.  42 hours per week.
  • Location: Droitwich, WR9
  • Salary: £31,608

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for all administrative requirements relating to transport
  • Liaise with internal and external customers, suppliers and drivers
  • Ensure the timely despatch of outbound vehicles and track them on their journeys
  • Monitor the arrival of inbound vehicles and liaise with the warehouse team
  • Identify and monitor issues trends
  • Contribute ideas which will improve our ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Support the planning of routes
  • Ensure that the operation remains legally compliant through monitoring drivers’ hours and downloading tachographs
  • Respond swiftly to breakdowns and vehicle defect reports
  • Ad-hoc administration duties

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • A general understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations
  • Experience of producing reports and statistics in a timely manner
  • Experience of working in a customer focused, time sensitive environment with daily fluctuating workloads
  • Able to react quickly to information, helping solve any challenges to routes
  • Good computer skill -essential and experience using in-house transport management systems is an advantage
  • The drive and motivation to work night shifts
