About the role of Site Engineer

Join a major civil engineering project in North Wales, located in the Porthmadog area. This project involves major tunnelling and the construction of two large shafts alongside associated civil engineering works. The site operates on a 2-shift pattern with shift premium (tbc) while in operation, offering a dynamic and challenging environment for engineers at all levels of experience. This project has a lengthy life cycle, with completion not anticipated until circa 2027.

Responsibilities for the Site Engineer

- Setting out roads, earthworks, and drainage using surveying equipment

- Managing all engineering activities, providing direction to direct workforce and subcontractors

- Ensuring quality control to meet design specifications

- Producing permits to break ground and managing CAT scanning procedures

- Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards on site

- Liaising with the site team to approve materials and maintaining accurate progress reports and records

Requirements for the Site Engineer

- Experience in civil engineering projects, tunnelling experience desirable

- Proficient in using GPS and Robotic Total Stations for setting out

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively within a team

- Knowledge of AutoCAD for producing as-built drawings
