This is a fantastic opportunity for a HRBP to become part of a small and friendly HR team and be at the heart of the employee experience, assisting with HR administration, the end-to-end recruitment process (onboarding), leavers (off boarding), sickness absence management as well as maintaining the HRIS system. Job Purpose:
  • Responsible for Sickness Absence Management work with the purpose of reducing absence and the affiliated cost
  • Support the HR Business Partner/Head of HR in handling Employee Relations, some of high complexity
  • Assist in facilitating and delivering corporate learning initiatives regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Undertake HR projects aligned with business objectives.
 Responsibilities:
  • Actively contribute to the development and writing of HR Policies in line with current legislation and best practice
  • Supporting line managers in delivering the appropriate responses to a range of HR related issues.
  • Providing proficient HR advice and support to managers, including interpreting and applying terms and conditions of service and contracts of employment
  • Facilitate the delivery of HR related training to line managers
  • Provide assistance to the HR Business Partner in managing and resolving the employee relations caseload
  • Assist the HR Business Partner with coaching and mentoring line managers in all people related matters
  • To upskill and empower the HR team members in conjunction with the Head of HR and HR Business Partner
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • To provide a variety of HR reports
  • Assist in HR projects and process improvements
  • To take responsibility for own personal development
  • Promote equality and diversity in all aspects of the role
  • Maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may arise commensurate with the grade/role
 Person Specification:
  • Membership of the CIPD or equivalent relevant experience
  • General understanding of HR processes
  • Experience delivering generalist HR advice
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced organisational skills and able to pay great attention to detail whilst managing a varied workload
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as work with minimum supervision
  • Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS and other HR-related software applications
  • Understanding of Data Protection (GDPR) principles and their applicability
  • Commitment to promoting equalities, diversity, and inclusion
  • An awareness and understanding of Health & Safety
  • Knowledge and understanding of Job Evaluation (DESIRABLE)
  • Experience working within a local authority and understanding of local authority terms & conditions (DESIRABLE)
