Legal Counsel - 12 Month FTC (Remote) - Immediate StartHertfordshireUp to £90,000 DOE Hybrid Working  Pleased to be working with a leading Consumer business who are searching for a Legal Counsel (6+ PQE) to tackle a broad range of commercial responsibilities on a 12-month Maternity Cover contract. This role will suit a candidate who has general commercial contracts experience, with previous exposure of providing support on Corporate transactions (but not essential)The successful candidate will be joining a well-established legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal and dealing with the following duties on a regular basis;
  • Provide pragmatic and commercial legal advice to the business whilst keeping updated with changes in relevant law.
  • To liaise with the business units to manage workload and expectations
  • Draft, negotiate and review a range of high value commercial contracts including partner and supplier contracts
  • Take the lead and project manage matters relating to a contract, for example, ensuring service descriptions, service levels, charges, and other commercial, financial and operational matters have been approved by the relevant person in the business, such that obtaining those approvals does not delay signature of a contract or result in the business having to accept onerous terms;
  • To manage instructed solicitors and counsel where required and carry out ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.
 My client is looking for a highly organised 6+ PQE Commercial Lawyer, who has the ability to work autonomously and handle numerous competing matters simultaneously.   There is also a track record of maternity cover hires joining the business on a permanent basis, albeit this can't be guaranteed and is business dependent. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like to be considered for the role.
