Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and experienced Income & Debt Finance Officer to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is crucial for managing and reducing the risk of bad debt through effective credit control and debt recovery practices.
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide support to the credit control function by following up on overdue invoices to identify and resolve any queries. This includes processing and issuing reminders, and handling telephone, email, and other enquiries.
- Assist with customer creation, and the raising of invoices and credit notes.
- Collaborate with Debt Collection Agencies to minimise the Trust’s risk of bad debt resulting from non-payment of invoices.
- Assist with regular reporting on the age and status of debt to maintain accurate financial records.
- Provide support to the Financial Accounting Team to help meet deadlines and maintain efficient financial operations.
- Experience in debt recovery or credit control is highly desirable.
- Ability to set up and maintain a systematic process for chasing debt and recording status.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of handling enquiries and resolving issues effectively.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools relevant to invoicing and credit control.
- Hybrid working arrangement – 2 days in the office at Harrogate hospital and 3 days at home, with initial full-time office training.
