Income and Debt Finance Officer, NHS, £15.16 / hr, 6-12 months, Harrogate
Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable Finance Officer with income and debt recovery experience? Have you worked in the NHS, or within a large public sector organisation, taking responsibility for ledger reduction? Are you looking for a 6-12 month fixed term, allowing you to make a significant impact on the reduction of debt? If yes, this is the job for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently handle the processing of financial data, ensuring all debts are tracked, and payments are received in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external parties, offering guidance and support on income and debt-related matters.
- Ensure all actions adhere to organisational policies and procedures, while maintaining a professional approach to all customer interactions.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, tracking outstanding debts, and providing regular updates to senior management.
- Support the team in dealing with debt collection activities, including liaising with debt collection agencies and handling legal proceedings if required.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum GCSEs in Mathematics and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Experience in debt collection and a demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- AAT Level 2 (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience in debt collection within the NHS environment or with debt collection agencies.
- Familiarity with Oracle Financials or similar financial systems.
