Business Development Manager

  • Uncapped Commission - £6-10k OTE

THE ROLE

This role offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to have a direct impact on the future of our client’s business. You will be responsible for proactively engaging with new business prospects as well as negotiating the renewal of any contracts that are due to expire 6 months prior to their end date, whilst recognising opportunities to upsell additional services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Researching businesses locally and nationally that may have a need for our client’s products and services.
  • Generating leads via online research, and by attending exhibitions and networking events.
  • Prospecting clients via telephone in order to secure face to face meetings.
  • Attending client appointments to understand their needs with the aim of securing new business.
  • Collecting and recording accurate information into the CRM system for future reference.
  • Working with the wider teams to offer an effective and tailored approach to your clients.
  • Creating opportunities to cross-sell water contracts, MOP contracts and PPA contracts.
  • Operating to strict processes and adhering to industry regulations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years’ B2B business development experience, with a demonstrable track record of managing your pipeline effectively and achieving/exceeding targets.
  • Experience within the Energy Industry is preferred but not essential.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to quickly and easily build rapport with key business stakeholders within small, medium and large organisations.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
  • An ability to manage a high workload whilst prioritising tasks in what can sometimes be a high-pressured environment.
  • Commercially aware with an ability to maximise on all opportunities.
  • Because this is a regulated space, attention to detail is critical.
  • A confident, enthusiastic, and approachable personality, with a forward-thinking and innovative attitude.
  • Self-motivated with a huge appetite to learn.
  • Punctual with solid time-keeping skills.
  • A clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Are a UK resident and unrestricted right to work in the UK.
