Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Harrogate Job Type: Full-time Salary: £80-£90 per day Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting secondary age students within an SEN provision in Harrogate. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEMH needs and possess strong behaviour management skills. A requirement for this role is having your own personal transport. Key Responsibilities:Provide tailored support to secondary age students with SEMH needs, ensuring they can effectively access the curriculum. Collaborate with teachers to assist in planning and delivering educational activities. Implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and positive learning environment. Assist in monitoring and evaluating students progress, both academically and socially. Facilitate small group sessions and provide one-to-one support to address individual needs. Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources. Support the schools SEN policies and contribute to the development of students Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Required Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within SEMH or SEN settings. Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs. Strong behaviour management skills and strategies. Ability to build rapport with secondary age students and adapt to their individual learning requirements. A collaborative team player who can also work independently. Relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role. Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN education. Must have your own personal transport.
