I am currently working with a SEMH school in the Harrogate area seeking highly dedicated and experienced full-time SEMH Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for pupils facing a range of emotional and social challenges.

The successful candidate will:

Possess a strong understanding of de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Provide individual and small group support to learners with SEMH needs.
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement effective strategies in line with a learner's EHCP.
Utilise a range of techniques to manage challenging behaviour, promote emotional regulation, and develop positive social skills.
Encourage and support learners' participation in classroom activities and social interactions.
Maintain clear boundaries while fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere.
Contribute to the development and implementation of a positive behaviour support system.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school or other educational setting.
A calm and patient demeanour, with a strong understanding of de-escalation techniques.
Ability to follow and implement structured support plans while adapting to individual learner needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with learners, families, and colleagues.
A valid driving license and access to a vehicle to travel to the school in Harrogate.
A TeamTeach qualification (or willingness to attend training).
Must have a UK driving licence
