Head of Finance – Automotive Business

Location: Harrogate Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance & Benefits

A well-established and ambitious company in the automotive sector is looking to appoint a Head of Finance to lead its finance function, drive strategic decision-making, and support its continued expansion.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership – Develop and execute financial strategies that support business growth. Provide commercial insights to Directors, influencing key decisions and performance improvements.
  • Financial Management & Reporting – Oversee financial operations, including payroll, invoicing, credit control, and cash flow management. Prepare accurate management accounts, variance analysis, and financial forecasts to drive decision-making.
  • Process & Compliance – Ensure robust financial controls, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance. Lead the annual audit process and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Business Partnering & Commercial Finance – Support pricing strategies, cost analysis, and margin improvement initiatives. Work closely with operational teams to optimise working capital, stock control, and financial planning.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Manage and mentor a growing finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and implementing best practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in a senior finance role.
  • Proven track record in financial leadership, ideally within a fast-moving or high-growth industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and business performance.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in the automotive sector would be an advantage but not essential.
