Reed HR are working exclusively with a leading care organisation based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, who are seeking to appoint a HR Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of the senior leadership team, responsible for both strategic HR planning and day-to-day HR operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Develop and implement an employment payment plan based on local, industry, and national data.
    • Create and manage a comprehensive employee benefits package.
    • Maintain the payroll and benefits system, prepare payroll budgets, and implement pay structure revisions.
  • Staffing and Recruitment:
    • Update job requirements and descriptions for all positions.
    • Manage the recruitment and selection process, including issuing and updating Contracts of Employment.
    • Conduct exit interviews and manage disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • HR Legal Requirements:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK legislation.
    • Maintain HR records and keep managers and staff informed about HR legal requirements.
  • Training and Development:
    • Manage the performance appraisal system and assess training needs.
    • Organise and implement training programs, seminars, workshops, and comprehensive new employee briefings.
  • Employee Wellness and Safety:
    • Foster a positive working environment and implement safety procedures to manage risks.
  • Reports for Management:
    • Prepare annual and routine reports on HR issues and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HR Management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Qualification in HR or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Deep understanding of HR legal requirements in the UK.
  • Familiarity with HR best practices.

Annual Salary: circa £38,000 - £42,000

Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-time permanent

Benefits:

  • Flexible working hours – 35 hrs per week.
