Title: Junior BuyerLocation: Harrogate (1 day a week)Salary: up to £35,000Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are thrilled to be partnering with a leading business in the utilities sector based in Harrogate. Due to a period of sustained growth and several acquisitions, the business are looking to recruit an additional Junior Buyer. The Junior Buyer will work alongside the Head of Procurement to support buying and negotiating existing and new contracts within the business. Alongside joining a supportive Manager, the Junior Buyer will receive:

Key duties of the Junior Buyer will include: 

  • Assess data, compare vendor proposals, and make data-driven purchasing decisions that align with company objectives.
  • High attention to detail when reviewing purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, promoting effective collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Ability to generate and review monthly supplier spend reports, analysing data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, both in general and for specific acquisitions.

Key Skills & Experience required:

  • Experience developing supplier relationships & sourcing products / customer tenders.
  • Advanced knowledge of excel: Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients at all levels.
  • A high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • An ability to work under own initiative and a professional, approachable, ‘can-do’ attitude.
