About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join our secondary school in Harrogate. This is a full-time position starting ASAP. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an engaging and challenging English curriculum to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Position Details

  • Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Proven track record of raising student attainment in English.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Encourage critical thinking and analytical skills through a range of teaching strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations through targeted support and intervention.
  • Encourage a love for reading and writing among students.
  • Provide extra-curricular opportunities related to English, such as debate clubs or writing workshops.
  • Monitor and address any safeguarding concerns in line with school policies.
