This role involves overseeing both permanent and sessional special needs play workers, creating empowering activity programs, and leading a team to deliver high-quality care. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead and manage a team, ensuring high standards of care for children and young adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. - Develop and deliver fun, stimulating, and person-centered activities (e.g., storytelling, arts, sports, group games, community outings). - Support children with high support needs, including distressed behaviors, in our centre, community, or family homes. - Ensure safeguarding policies are adhered to and foster relationships with families to track and support childrens development. - Lead Positive Behaviour Support frameworks, focusing on understanding and addressing underlying needs. - Conduct risk assessments, maintain a safe environment, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards. - Manage rotas, communication with families and professionals, and ensure accurate records are kept. - Support staff development through induction, supervision, and ongoing coaching. **Essential Requirements:** - 4 years of experience in childcare, education, or youth work. - 1 year of experience in a role with line management responsibilities. - Level 3 qualification in childcare, youth work, or a relevant field. - Experience working with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). - Ability to protect children from harm and demonstrate a positive approach to distressed behaviours. - Strong written and computer skills for record-keeping and reporting. - Flexibility with working hours, including weekends, and commitment to personal development. - Strong teamwork skills and ability to lead others effectively. - Self-leadership and adaptable communication skills. **Desirable Skills/Experience:** - Knowledge of child development, particularly related to emotional, social, and educational needs. - Positive Behaviour Support or CALM training. - Multiagency safeguarding training. - Full drivers license. - Experience in managing resources and budgets. **Why Apply?** This is a rewarding role where you can make a tangible impact on the lives of children, ensuring they have access to the support and activities they need to thrive.
