Part Time Nursery Nurse
3 Days per week, Monday-Wednesday
Term Time Only
Initially fixed term until August 2025
We are seeking an outstanding nursery nurse or teaching assistants, to work in our Foundation Stage. We are looking for enthusiastic practitioners, who enjoy working with younger children and have the ability to support them in all aspects of their learning and development. Experience of working in the Early Years Foundation Stage is essential. Good standards in English and mathematics are required. Applications from graduates are very welcome.
The Nursery Nurse will be expected to assist in the Foundation Stage in any of the following ways:
Work with individuals or groups of children as required to assist in their learning.
To share with the teacher planning, assessing work, and evaluation of activities.
To be able to work on her/his own initiative.
To be able to re-phrase and modify language spontaneously so that a child with SEN/EAL will understand.
Provide small group and one to one support as necessary.
Assist in setting up and demounting displays and roll play areas.
Be aware at all times of the physical and emotional needs of the children and act whenever it is practical so to do to satisfy their needs.
Develop childrens social skills.
Adapt and prepare materials to meet the needs of the children.
Encourage the childrens independence by knowing when to stand back and when to be involved in their play.
Attend school curriculum planning meetings, specific learning meetings with class teacher, parents and other professionals as requested.
To write and present accurate observations, records and reports.
To have positive contact with parents.
To lead whole class activities under the direction of the class teacher.
To maintain a safe environment.
To work with the school team on INSET days.
To support fully the schools policy on Equal Opportunities and Teaching for Learning Policy.
Carry out any other relevant duties as requested by the headteacher or her representative.
