- Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of highways and related infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify areas requiring attention.
- Support the planning and execution of roadworks and construction projects.
- Monitor and report on the condition of road surfaces, signage, and other highway assets.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to implement maintenance and improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide on-site support as needed.
- Lead on a minor parking schemes programme.
- Assist with parking/traffic scheme design.
- Write basic briefings and reports.
- CAD skills are essential.
- Experience with GIS is essential.
- Relevant technical qualification in civil engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Proven experience in highway maintenance or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites.
- Ability to undertake site visits, including evenings.
