- Evidence of ongoing learning and development (CPD).
- Degree and/or CIPD qualification, or relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrable record of achievement in employee relations, specifically in sickness absence casework, TUPE, and strategic and operational HR projects.
- Experience in successfully managing employee relations issues in a timely and consistent manner within a large organization.
- Proficient in report writing and communicating complex issues to a broad range of audiences.
- Ability to manage a range of complex and contentious matters with high-level support, persuasion, and advocacy, alongside an awareness of major policy objectives, employment legislation, and regulations.
- Develop and deliver targeted action plans to reduce sickness absence across the Council.
- Successfully conclude casework, including complex casework, organizational change, and other HR&OD initiatives, within deadlines, KPIs, and in line with existing Employee Relations SLA.
- Develop and deliver service objectives as agreed with line management.
- Provide expert advice on absence management to customers, ensuring consistent quality of HR service.
- Proactively identify and implement service improvements in absence management.
