Reed is acting on behalf of a private care specialist who are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their finance department. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our group of companies within Group. The Finance Manager will be instrumental in managing their finance team, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and developing key financial reports that aid in decision-making and promote growth and profitability.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage the finance team involved in maintaining accounts for the group of companies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of key financial reports including Management Accounts, Cash Flow analysis, Budget variance, and Bank covenants test.
  • Establish and maintain cash controls, financial policies, and Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Work closely with the group’s managerial team to develop budgets and control spending in accordance with these budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, banking, and other financial requirements.
  • Manage services provided by external accountants to ensure accurate annual accounts are submitted as required.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all financial queries, both within the group and externally.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proven experience managing a Finance Team.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial reporting.
  • Excellent skills in Excel and MS Office.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in resolving issues.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a Finance team.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
  • Flexibility in work hours.
  • Non-judgmental approach to problem-solving.
  • Financial/Accounting qualification.
