Teaching Assistant, Assistant to the SENCO | Harrow, HA3 | £95-£105 | Full-time | September 2024 | Long Term-Permanent

LTF Recruitment are seeking an experienced and organised Teaching Assistant to support the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) of our fantastic partner school in Harrow. This role is predominantly administrative, focusing on paperwork and supporting the development of Education, Health, and Care Plans for children with special educational needs. While not classroom-based, the position involves some interaction with parents, students, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the SENCO with the preparation, review, and submission of EHCPs.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date.
  • Liaise with parents, students, and external professionals to gather information and provide updates on the EHCP process.
  • Support the SENCO in organizing meetings and reviews, including scheduling and minute-taking.
  • Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with GDPR.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative role within an educational setting, ideally with experience supporting SENCOs.
  • Strong understanding of the EHCP process and SEN frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with a strong commitment to supporting children with SEN.
