We are working with an educational institution to recruit an experienced IT Systems and Infrastructure Manager. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and enhancing the school’s IT systems and infrastructure. As the IT Systems and Infrastructure Manager, you’ll lead a dynamic team to ensure the smooth operation of the school’s network, audio-visual systems, and telephony services across multiple buildings. You will play a key part in maintaining the institution's reputation for excellence by ensuring that IT services and systems meet the highest standards for students, staff, and the wider school community.

Location: North West London

Salary: Up to £42k + accommodation + benefits

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing management of IT systems, including the school’s fibre network, switches, servers, Wi-Fi, and telephony systems.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure the effective operation of IT services in line with the school’s needs and customer expectations, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
  • Project Management: Lead the planning and execution of IT infrastructure and system projects, collaborating with the IT team to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a small team of IT professionals, delegating tasks based on skills and workload to ensure a high-performing team.
  • System Administration: Manage Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, Active Directory, and other critical systems. Ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of IT services and infrastructure.
  • Technical Support: Provide expertise on technical issues and offer innovative solutions to resolve operational challenges.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external suppliers, managing contracts and ensuring that performance meets expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant Experience: Extensive experience in a similar IT management role, ideally within an educational or complex organizational environment.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IT networking, server infrastructure, cloud services (Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure), and AV systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and lead an IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration and performance.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong skills in identifying technical issues, troubleshooting, and providing innovative solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and thoroughness in all areas of IT operations.
  • Excellent Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships with staff at all levels and provide clear guidance.
