Legal Assistant Secretary

We are seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant  to join our dynamic team. This role requires a professional with a strong background in handling various legal administrative tasks, including dealing with Land Registry and HM Revenue & Customs submissions. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and submit applications to the Land Registry and SDLT forms to HM Revenue & Customs electronically, utilising common SDLT reliefs.
  • Handle completion statements and manage completions and post-completion matters independently.
  • Submit applications to register legal charges and other documents online to Companies House.
  • Undertake general file management tasks including filing, file opening, archiving, and ensuring zero balances on files.
  • Manage correspondence, fulfill AML requirements, and handle telephone communications.
  • Perform a full range of typing and administrative tasks such as producing/sending letters and emails, amending complex documents, preparing bills, and completion statements.
  • Assist various teams within the firm as needed, adapting to varying team sizes and requirements.
  • Report to the Head of the Department and work constructively with technology and other team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in handling legal administrative tasks for fee earners who act for lenders.
  • Ability to prepare and manage legal documents and submissions independently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a professional, conscientious approach.
  • Friendly, proactive, and adaptable with a "can do" attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team and with various departments as required.
  • Relevant experience of 5 years is required.
