The role of the Commercial Licensing Officer will include, involving enforcement, advisory and educational activities in the area of commercial licensing including alcohol, entertainment, gambling, street trading, scrap metal and any other commercial licensing related area
Main Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with licensing and housing legislation through inspections and enforcement actions.
Represent the Council at public inquiries, meetings, and committees, providing technical information and reports.
Conduct investigations and develop solutions for professional issues, collaborating with stakeholders.
Support team members and Technical Support Officers to improve service delivery and staff development.
Prepare reports and evidence for legal proceedings, and provide expert advice to residents, businesses, and stakeholders.
Issue legal documents and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
Manage moderately complex operational and enforcement issues.
Use IT systems for performance management and stay updated on legislative and technical developments.
Make decisions to improve service delivery and mitigate risks.
Build relationships with stakeholders to achieve Council and statutory outcomes.
Deputize for senior officers as needed and undertake other duties as required.
