This temporary position offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £ 28.59 as Umbrella PAYE, alongside excellent training, career development opportunities, and 21 days of annual leave (excluding Bank Holidays).Key Responsibilities:" Serve as a Commercial Licensing Officer, overseeing enforcement, advisory, and educational activities across areas such as alcohol, entertainment, gambling, street trading, scrap metal, and other commercial licensing matters." Assess compliance with licensing legislation, initiate enforcement actions as needed, conduct premises inspections, and identify legislative requirements for further action." Perform technical inspections to ensure adherence to licensing and housing laws, including evaluations of safety and fitness standards." Represent the Council at public inquiries, meetings, external organizations, and Council committee sessions, providing technical expertise and preparing service-related reports." Lead investigations, propose tailored solutions to professional challenges within the relevant discipline, and engage in consultation, liaison, and partnership collaborationRequirements:" Expertise in licensing legislation, maintaining specialist and current knowledge, and applying relevant regulations." Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Welfare laws alongside approved Codes of Practice." Awareness of Local Government's political environment and context." Proven experience as a Licensing Officer or in similar roles, including enforcement and inspections."
