Salary range: Inner London Pay Scales MPS (£38,766 - £50,288) / UPS (£55,414.72 - £60,092.09)
Contract: Fixed Term – Maternity Cover
Commencement date: June 2025

The Role 
Spanish is a popular and successful subject throughout the school with many students opting to study Spanish at GCSE. We have also recently introduced Spanish as an A Level option. You will join a well-qualified, friendly and committed Spanish team. The school offers excellent support for ECTs in their induction year. This is an exceptional opportunity. The Person 
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher who can inspire and excite students about their learning. You will have an innovative approach to developing a Spanish curriculum that is inclusive to all students and makes good use of ICT.   The successful candidate will be expected to teach Spanish across the full age and ability range up to and including your specialism at A Level. The ability to work within a team is essential and candidates will be expected to have good ICT skills. A sound knowledge and understanding of best practice in the accurate assessment of student work is essential.

•    To contribute to raising standards of student attainment 
•    To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth 
•    To fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document

Qualifications and Experience:
•    Qualified Teacher Status within the relevant subject area. 
•    Experience of teaching all or most of the age range served by the School (11 – 18). 
•    Well qualified in the appropriate subject area and/or participation in relevant in-service courses and/or further professional study.


Skills and Knowledge:
•    Knowledge of the National Curriculum 
•    Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies 
•    A good understanding of how children learn 
•    Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs 
•    Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils 
•    Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children 
•    Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies 
•    Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
